I have a Graduate Diploma in Professional Writing through the University of Canberra and a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) through the Australian National University. I’ve worked as a freelance web content writer and editor, but fiction is my true love. If I’m ever missing, check the library.

I’m a member of Andromeda Spaceways Publishing. I write book reviews, conduct interviews with fascinating authors, read submissions and co-edited Andromeda Spaceways Issue #67. In 2020 I was one of the judges for the CYA competition.

I love writing for children and adults.  I’ve had stories published in First: Undertow, Breach (Issues #2, #4 and #8), Antipodean SF, Orbit, Touchdown and Blast Off (The School Magazine), Wit & Whimsy (Volume 1), Spaceports & Spidersilk, Endless Stars (Issue #1), in Aussie Speculative Fiction’s Zodiac Series and on The Australian Children’s Poetry blog.

    I am 31 years old and I grew up in Eden, which is a beautiful beach town in NSW. I moved to Canberra for university, but now I live in Eden again!

    Some of my interests (along with writing of all kinds) are hiking, cooking, skiing, and reading fantasy. I just finished writing my first novel, about an old woman who travels to the underworld to confront the god of time. I also love overseas travel, but I don’t get the chance often.

    I am married and I have two children: a preschooler and a baby. I spend most of my time taking care of them and writing (whenever I can fit it in edgewise). Lately I’ve also been working with a fantastic magazine called Andromeda Spaceways. I was one of the proofreaders for their last issue. In the past I’ve run my own business as a web content writer.

    I wrote The Picnic in response to a challenge on the Australian Children’s Poetry website to write a poem based on the word ‘pickle’. That brought to mind the phrase ‘in a pickle’, and the rest wrote itself. I love playing with words, sounds and rhythms. Most of the time, inspiration for my poems will come from something simple in everyday life. For instance, I have one poem about cooking, and one about how hard it is to sleep when you’ve got a cold. I think if I wrote a sequel for The Picnic, it would be about somebody ‘in a jam’.
